Video of a talk about migrating from Citus Cloud to Citus on Azure by Algolia engineers Matthieu Dumont and Antoine Hemery, presented at Citus Con: An Event for Postgres. Abstract: At Algolia, we were long time customers of Citus Cloud for our multi-region analytics pipeline (~5TB of data). We chose to migrate to Hyperscale (Citus) on Azure at the end of 2021. As the analytics stack is a key part of our search as a service offering, our goal was to have the least downtime possible on our infrastructure. Hence, we designed a database migration plan to provide a seamless migration to our Algolia users. What's included in this talk: • our database migration plan • our architecture choices that helped achieving the migration • the migration itself (featuring unplanned surprises!)
