The session will cover how InMobi built an in-house Autoscaler for Azure Cosmos DB to efficiently leverage it with a traffic pattern that changes regularly during the day. This would include showing how the traffic pattern varies through out the day in various regions and the bursts in traffic that we receive as there are batch writes. It will cover how all these are handled based on the amount of throttling, provisioned RUs, buffer rate, maximum provisioning limit, minimum provisioning limit etc. which are entirely configurable based on the traffic pattern. This has enabled InMobi to leverage Azure Cosmos DB at a high scale (more than a Million QPS) in multiple regions in a cost effective manner. 90% cost savings were observed as compared to fixed scaling and over 50% compared to Azure Autoscaler. #AzureCosmosDB ...more
