As organizations look to migrate and modernize their applications in the cloud, it is important for them to preserve their existing investments in Java EE/Jakarta EE deployments that may be running on premises or on virtual machines. In this session, James and Jason will introduce the Red Hat Migration Toolkit for Applications (MTA), and how it can be used to migrate existing Java EE/Jakarta EE applications to modern managed cloud platforms, such as Azure App Service. This session will demonstrate the MTA VS Code plugin and use it to remove proprietary APIs from a Java EE application, migrate it to JBoss EAP, and deploy it onto Azure App Service.
