    Hi

Really looking forward to a bunch of improvements!

Will the Feature Timeline be updated with 2022 (and 2020.1.2 for that matter)?
    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/devops/release-notes/features-timeline

I have a felling that it still contains a number of very old ‘future’ values where some might never be delivered or some has already been delivered. Oldest one is from 2015 🙂

Hi Tore, features will be updated in the Feature Timeline.

Hi Sandra, Azure DevOps Server 2022 RC1 was based on features up to sprint 205. Unfortunately, dependency lines visualization is not included in Azure DevOps Server 2022 RC1 since it was introduced in sprint 206

      • Mike Fourie 0

Can we expect a .1, .2 etc. release train every X months that brings in the new sprint work? Tracking the SAAS product by a few months seems to have stalled with the 2020 product.

Hi Mike, we expect to continue adding features to Azure DevOps Server 2022, but I don’t have details on the cadence at this time.

Could it be that the Copy Dashboard is missing, there is no option in our Lab environment after the migration to copy a dashboard. Created a new Dashboard but also there is not the additional option to create a copy.

    Thanks and BR,
    Jan

How do we enable preview features on devops server 2022 onprem? The release notes show it in the screenshot for “Templates support in YAML editor” for “Azure DevOps Server 2022” but no where to do this… also it shows Mermaid support for the wiki, yet I do not see it working on the onprem devops server 2022 despit the documentation showing it in it

    • SilviuMicrosoft employee 0

Hi Brian, thank you for reporting the issue! We are investigating it, and will get back to you once we have more information.

      • Stefan 0

I can verify that the mermaid support is missing in 2022 RC1 even though it is mentioned in the release notes. If it is again not in the release this is be the second major release where this feature was announced and then not included. As mermaid is only in the frontend I really do not get why it keeps being forgotten. It is really a big quality of life feature and a constant complaint from our users that it is missing.

Hi Stefan, we will investigate features that were not enabled with this release. I will provide an update as soon as I have it and I apologize for the inconvenience.

    • Gloridel MoralesMicrosoft employee 0

Hi Brian, mermaid diagrams are not supported in wiki pages at this time. We expect to add this feature with the Azure DevOps Server 2022 RC2 release.

Sadly the announced Delivery Plan – Dependency Lines are also not displayed on our Lab environment even though Predecessor as well as Successors are defined in the work items.

And the announced YAML Templates seem to need the availability of preview features options, how to enable those in the ADO Server 2022 RC1?

    Any hints on those issues?

    • Dan HellemMicrosoft employee 0

For the dependency lines. I just checked this out in our test environment, and it is working as expected. If you can, email me some details and screen shots to dahellem@microsoft.com and we can take a look at it with you.

      • Selbach, Jan 0

        Thanks Dan,

just sent out the mail if you need anything else please let me know.

        BR,
        Jan

Git LFS is currently broken by default in Azure Devops Server because it dropped support for NTLM. Does this release support Kerberos for Git LFS out of the box, or will we still need to configure our IIS to use Kerberos instead of NTLM manually.
    Thank You!

    • Gloridel MoralesMicrosoft employee 0

Hi James, I will ask our engineering team and let you know once I have a response.

    • Dennis Lindqvist 0

You can still use Git LFS if using PAT as login instead. And it only have issues where Kerberos isn’t a possibility.

Hi Erlend, we will investigate this, and I will provide an update as soon as I have it. I apologize for the inconvenience.

    • Gloridel MoralesMicrosoft employee 0

Hi Erlend, mermaid diagrams are not supported in wiki pages at this time. We expect to add this feature with the Azure DevOps Server 2022 RC2 release.

  • Tejas Nair 0

    Hi,

Thanks for the information and looking forward to this update!

Will the Visual studio build task that is shipped with ADO server 2022, contain the latest version of azure pipeline tasks, so as to support building with VS2022? It’s close to a year now that VS2022 was released and our pipelines can’t build .NET 6 projects using VS2022 out of the box (and we are forced to use workarounds).

    Regards,
    Tejas Nair

    • Gloridel MoralesMicrosoft employee 0

Hi Tejas, I will ask our engineering team and let you know.

    • Gloridel MoralesMicrosoft employee 0

Hi Tejas Nair, the build task will contain the latest version. Azure DevOps Server 2022 RC2 will support building with VS2022.
